the place you are most strongly connected to.
Age rules depend on the constituency, but current examples include 18-23 for India and
the United States, 18-24 for Australia, and 18-24 or 18-25 for West Africa depending
on the course group.
Older applicants may still qualify in some constituencies if they are under 27 and finished
their first undergraduate degree within the required recent time window.
You must have already completed, or be about to complete, an undergraduate degree before
starting at Oxford.
You must meet the entry requirements of your chosen full-time postgraduate course at Oxford.
A very strong academic record is expected. Rhodes notes that candidates are more competitive
for Oxford admission with a First Class Honours degree, a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher, or an
equivalent result.
If English is not your first language, you must meet Oxford's English language standard for
your course.
The scholarship is only for full-time study at the University of Oxford; part-time study is
not covered.
PGCert and PGDip courses are not eligible.
You can submit only one application per year, and you can apply a maximum of two times in total.
Some constituencies have extra rules. For example, the U.S. constituency requires citizenship
or lawful permanent residency, and the Australian constituency accepts citizens, permanent
residents, and in some cases refugees or asylum seekers living in Australia.
West Africa has an additional residency rule: applicants must have lived in one or more eligible
West African countries for at least five of the last ten years.
Selection is also based on Rhodes's core qualities: academic excellence, full use of talents,
service to others, leadership, and strong moral character.
